After the Storm: Baby Will
October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Over the last several weeks, we've featured our "rainbow babies" from a model call we conducted back in August. A rainbow baby is a baby born after suffering a loss and/or infertility. The Loving Memories team has had the honor of inviting these incredible, resilient parents into the studio and meeting their precious miracles.
Tonya Will is one of the moms who reached out during our model call. She shares her story with us:
"My husband and I met in 2014, married in 2015. My husband has a daughter from a previous marriage, but we decided we wanted to grow our family. Unfortunately, from 2016-2018, I suffered 4 miscarriages. We sought fertility treatments and prayed God would fulfill our desire for a baby. We continued treatments and, in 2018, I became pregnant with our now 4-year-old daughter, Lincoln Harper, and, she has been the sweetest addition to our family! Fast forward to this past winter (2022). We had actually just finished a holiday session with Loving Memories and were preparing for the upcoming holidays. After experiencing a series of symptoms, I first attributed to medical issues that had contributed to my infertility, I decided to reach out to my doctor. To our surprise and disbelief, I discovered I was nearly 8 weeks pregnant-naturally! My husband and I are older and never expected to be walking this road again, but we amazed at the way God has continued to provide and keep this little one safe and healthy."
Tonya shared that Baby Silas has a nursery with neutral tones and boho accents. Kristen brought in these same colors with the wrap, fur choice and basket, along with these beautiful brown boho rainbow props we have in our Newborn Suite.
Kristen put together a variety of styled sets, making sure to keep Mom and Dad's neutral colors/boho theme in mind. We customize all of our styled newborn photography sessions to the parents' wishes, nursery themes, and color preferences. The little boho rainbow props surround the wooden bowl - a subtle but sweet reminder of the joy Silas brings to his parents after suffering losses and fertility struggles.
We are so thankful Baby Silas came to see us in the studio and that his brave and loving parents shared their story of love, loss and the arrival of this little blessing with us.
