After the Storm: Celebrating Rainbow Babies
At Loving Memories Photography & Design, we wanted to commemorate National Rainbow Baby Day (August 22nd) by hosting special model call sessions featuring these extraordinary little ones. Rainbow babies symbolize hope, strength, and the resilience of brave families who have experienced the heartbreak of infant loss, miscarriage, and/or infertility.
As photographers, we understand the profound significance behind capturing these precious moments. We believe in celebrating the courage and love that bring rainbow babies into the world and honoring their unique journeys. For those of us at the studio who are mothers, some of us know from personal experience the pain and darkness of such a loss and know the joy these rainbow babies bring.
Laurel worked with Baby Luca who joined his Mom and Dad earthside after 4 consecutive losses. They also decided to wait to find out the gender, so this little man was certainly a welcome gift. Baby Luca's nursery is jungle-themed, so Laurel incorporated these colors into their newborn session while celebrating the fact that he's a very-loved rainbow baby! Laurel understands the significance of a rainbow baby's arrival, having her first pregnancy end in miscarriage immediately following her wedding and honeymoon in 2014.
We wanted to create a warm and supportive environment where we could stylize and create a memorable experience for these families. Their stories of courage, strength, perseverance and sacrifice blew us away.
Now through October (Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month), join us on the blog as we pay tribute to these incredible families and their rainbow miracles. Together, let's celebrate the joy and hope that radiate from these little ones, reminding us all of the power of love and resilience in overcoming life's challenges.
