For the last two years, leading up to National Rainbow Baby Day on August 22nd, we come together to mark this national day of recognition, dedicated to honoring the lives of those precious children born after the loss of a previous baby.

It’s a day to celebrate hope, healing, and the journey of families who have bravely faced the storm of loss, only to find their beautiful rainbow on the other side. Here at Loving Memories Photography & Design LLC, we love to commemorate this special occasion by featuring rainbow baby model calls and sharing the incredible stories of the families we meet.

The Importance of Rainbow Babies

Rainbow babies are simply defined as "babies born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or the loss of an infant." They are a symbol of hope following a period of darkness, sorrow and loss. Each story is unique, filled with challenges and triumphs that deserve to be told and celebrated. It was important to me to highlight these stories -- as I have also braved "the storm" after losing our first baby to miscarriage in September of 2014.

Meet Baby Olivia: Our First Rainbow Baby

This year, we are so excited to introduce you to our first featured rainbow baby for National Rainbow Baby Day: Baby Olivia. Her arrival was eagerly anticipated by her parents, who experienced the heart-wrenching loss of their first baby just around this time last year. The journey to bring Olivia into this world was not easy, as her parents turned to IVF—a testament to their unwavering love and determination.

With every heartbeat, every flutter, and every kick, Baby Olivia became a beacon of light and love for her family. Her story, like many others, is one of resilience and transformation—proof that miracles can happen even after life's darkest moments.

A Customized Experience

To honor this beautiful journey, we customized every aspect of Olivia’s photo session to reflect her parents' unique style and preferences. With her mom's love of boho colors and vibes, we designed the session around the stunning and vibrant hues of the rainbow while still maintaining a cohesive and personalized look. The session was a celebration—a chance to capture the love and joy that Olivia brought into their lives, showcasing the radiant energy that follows the storm.
